Introduction:
First and foremost, welcome to Verdi Cries, a new experience in text-based online roleplaying. The story of Verdi Cries is quite simple really: All over the world there are objects and artifacts that hold power and the secrets to the mysteries of life and the universe at large. The mystery of life is rather simple: It is a balance of the real and unreal, a realm where things contradict and complement in harmony. Such a basic understanding is simple, yet vague. This is where there are people all over the world looking for this knowledge. Regardless of their reasons, but by understanding this and all its many little complexities, one can do just about anything short of speaking to the creator herself.
Episode & Finale Roleplaying:
The story of Verdi Cries will be done though play-by-post threads called "Episodes". Each episode will run for two-three weeks. Thirteen "Episodes" will span one season, with the thirteenth episode serving as the "Season Finale". If a player is unable to finish his/her objective during an episode, their last post will serve as a "cliff hanger" that will be transferred to the following episode.
Play-By-Post Roleplaying:
Non-Episode Roleplaying can be done in the Play-by-Post section. Now, the section itself will be something that will continually grow. Players have the options to roleplay in locations along various cities across the world. Once a city has been opened in the Episode thread, it will be "unlocked" and made available for play-by-post roleplaying. Private roleplays can be done at the discretion of the thread's creator.
Characters:
Now, unlike most fantasy sites that offer the players the chance to create mythical creatures and superhumans, the characters on Verdi Cries will strictly be human; this means no vampires, no werewolves, no angels, no demons, no highlanders or anything. They can't be over powerful or perfect, like all people they must have their charms and their follies. Their has to be balance. This is where the story of Verdi Cries really comes into play, the subtle interaction between characters. Once a character is made and posted, he/she will wait approval from the staff. In the meantime, its suggested that a back-story for the character must be written. Nothing too long or detailed, but an introduction to the characters, their purpose and reason for wanting to acquire knowledge, items, and artifacts and for players to know them better. Once a character has been approved, then they can instantly join an episode thread or a play-by-post.
Just A Couple More Things:
*No Godmodding or Trolling of any kind. Most of us have spent enough time across different sites to have dealt with Trollers and Godmodders. They take the piss away from having fun and their nothing but trouble. So please, if you're looking to cause trouble, don't join this site. We're easy people and we don't want to deal with any shit. Consider this as a warning.
*Have fun. Again, we're easy people here and the majority of us who developed the site have formed a strong bond since we met that has lasted us through several sites. I, personally, consider the friends I've made through roleplaying as part of my extended family. So relax, be yourself, play nice, and chip in. If you have an idea for anything, just let us know. We're always open for comments and suggestions.
