"Interesting you say? How so?" Vinnie was tapping his fingers on the table, his face smooth with calm and a feeling of comfort. Something about this guy..

"You're gonna think I'm crazy.", Kurt said. "But years ago, I found this object, it looked normal and its powers were pretty out of this world. My research led me here.".

Vinnie stopped tapping. His eyes widened. "Oh?" Vinnie knew this guy has had experience with these 'objects'. "Come now, I'm an open minded guy. Tell me your little tale" Vinnie gave a small laugh, but was focused and hung on his every word.

"Well, I won't get into detail.", Kurt said as he placed the cigarette on the ashtray and sipped his coffee. "But nine years ago, I encountered this object, a stamp. And it wasn't like your average everyday postal stamp, it was out of this world and the things it did, for better or worse, changed my life. You see, these objects link to each other. They draw other holders together. And a central place for these objects... The very belief's, ideas and foundations it was all built on is right here, in Arizona. Among places.".

Vinnie enjoyed mystery and tales, even though they're normally completely false. But he knew what this guy was telling him now was true, he thought back to his ring. "Hey, I don't even know your name, I'm Vinnie" Vinnie put his hand over the table to shake.

Kurt extended his hand and replied, "Kurt, Kurt Grippe. You've got an object, don't you?".

"Kurt, Kurt Grippe. You've got an object, don't you?" Vinnie wasn't sure if he was supposed to let others know he had an object, even if they knew about objects themselves. In the end he decided that there couldn't be too much harm come from it.
Vinnie was also starting to wake up a bit more. Boy could I go for a drink..

"You alright, man?", Kurt asked as he lit another cigarette.

"Yea I'm fine, and yea I do have an 'object' if that's what we're calling 'em." Vinnie put his hand on the table to show his ring. He was kind of pleased to know he at least had an object that looked cool, not like a stamp or something lame like that.

Kurt looked at it, with his jaw open, asking, "Where'd you get this? This is quite an elusive object, you know.".

The thought that his item was better than the rest excited Vinnie. "No laddie, I didn't realize how rare it was. And if it's all the same to you I'd rather keep that information enclosed."

"Something happened, huh?", Kurt asked, casually as he brought the cigarette close to his lips and brought it close for a drag.

"You could say that, and that's all to be said about that." Vinnie was wondering about how much longer he would stay in conversation with this guy.

Kurt leaned in close and said, "Look, now that you have that object, the life that you knew isn't going to be the same. I'm not trying to intimidate you here, but I'm telling you what happens to the rest of us. You're a part of it now, this grand big thing, whether you like it or not. Now, you don't have to tell me you're life story, but I think you better know what's going to happen to you from here on out.".

Vinnie could see this guy wasn't just talking shit and that he should trust him, for now at least. "Alright, I'm ready to learn 'bout these objects"
